As a realtor in Columbus, Ohio, I’ve seen the condition of a roof come up time and again with my buyers and sellers. The sound of rain drumming on your roof can be relaxing and soothing – but hearing the banging of hail is another story! While hail is rare in many areas of the country, it’s fairly common in this part of Ohio, and the potential for spring hailstorms leaves many homeowners nervous. Hailstorms can cause significant damage to homes, vehicles and landscaping, so it’s no wonder that they are a little worrisome.
No matter what the time of year, “insulating the attic” will always be an important item on your home maintenance to-do list. Even though it may feel like winter is winding down here in Columbus, we know all too well that winter isn’t over … yet. And once spring comes to stay, summer heat and humidity won’t be far behind.
Chad Muth, president of Muth & Company Roofing, was recently featured on the Roof Insight Show, an industry website that caters to roofing contractors nationwide who want to do better with their business and enjoy greater wealth and freedom in their lives. With 22 years of experience at the head of a thriving Columbus roofing company, Chad was the first contractor to be selected for this special feature.
Rod Menzel, a roofing contractor based in southern California, and Steve Wein, a computer professional that caters to the roofing industry, interviewed Chad about how he got his business started, steps he took to grow his business, his highest and lowest points, and what he did differently from other contractors to help Muth & Company become one of the most successful roofing companies in Columbus, Ohio, today.
“It was a real honor to be able to talk about my experiences with Rod and Steve,” Chad says. “I know there are a lot of guys out there who are thinking about maybe getting started in the business, and I feel like I have a lot of knowledge that can help them understand the importance of a business plan, how to get employees to become your team members, and why you should be proud you’re a roofer.”
