Getting Campy: Surviving Summer With Your Kids

As the school year winds down, we all begin to look forward to the long, lazy days of summer … or do we? Summers can be long and tedious for kids who don’t have anything worthwhile to do, which is why a summer camp program can be a lifesaver for both working families and stay-at-home parents who don’t want to hear the dreaded phrase “I’m bored!” all summer long.

Campy Summer

As a service to the community, your favorite roofing company has put together a list of a fun and unique summer camps that could mean the difference between summer boredom and summer fun for your kids!

Down on the Farm

“The natural world is our first and most efficient teacher.” This is the philosophy of The Country School Farm, situated in the middle of idyllic Amish country in Holmes County, Ohio. While the family that runs the farm is not Amish, they emulate many of the same values as their Amish neighbors. While performing chores around the farm, children are instilled with a sense of honesty and fair play as they are taught to work with others. No cell phones, no iPads, no screens; just good old-fashioned farm work and tons of fun!

Get Wild

Do you want your kid hanging out with a bunch of animals this summer? If it’s at the Columbus Zoo summer camp, you do! With several different age-appropriate programs to choose from, campers are able to get up close and personal with the zoo residents as they learn about the environment and the wonders of the animal kingdom. Put your child in summer camp at the Columbus Zoo, and they will enjoy their summer in a safe, supervised environment that’s educational as well as entertaining!

Be a Good Sport!

At Sports Ohio, there is no off season. Whether your child already has a favorite sport or wants to learn something new, the summer camps at Sports Ohio have something for everybody.
